DIY Deodorant Paste and Underarm Detox Paste

Okay so I’ve been using a natural deodorant paste for several years now so I thought that it was about time that I gave it a try of making my own, and happy to share that I am loving it!

So here’s the recipe for you guys to give it a go and let me know what you think?

3 tablespoons of melted coconut oil

2 tablespoons of Tapioca or Arrowroot Flour

1 tablespoon of bicarb

10-15 drops of essential oils of choice (I’d used Cedarwood and Tea-tree but you could also use Balance, lime, clary sage, Frankincense, lavender, sandalwood, on there own or as a combination)

Mix it really well together and pour it into a repurposed container or jar and let it set.

One more thing: if you are moving away from conventional deodorants (aka Supermarket ones), I recommend you do a ‘pit detox’ first - here’s how:

make a thick paste with bentonite clay and apple cider vinegar, rub it under your arm pits and leave it on for 10-20 mins. Then wash off. This is good to do every couple of months.

We’d to hear your feedback and don’t forget to share and tag SustainableYouPod

DIY Dishwashing Powder

Why make your own dishwashing powder when you can easily buy this from the supermarket? Firstly I like to know what’s in my products, for personal health (aka toxic load) and for our ecosystem health.
